Challenges3

Brief Challenge Description
After a prolonged period in the sea, various microorganisms accumulate on FISH nets, clogging the mesh holes, hindering oxygen circulation, and impeding proper fish respiration. To maintain net cleanliness in the sea for a more extended period, we apply a special coating, Antifouling (containing copper oxide). This approved material, certified for sea use, ensures environmental compliance.

Expected Results from the Solution
Creating an even more ecological material for net infusion poses a significant challenge for the AQUACULTURE sector, aiming to further protect aquatic environments. The goal is to develop a new net infusion material that is equally or more effective than the existing one, keeping the nets clean in the sea while concurrently safeguarding the aquatic environment.

Digital Moisture Measurement Tools for Cottonseed Mass
BIOS AGROSYSTEMS ABEE

Brief Challenge Description
The objective is to measure the moisture content of cottonseed from loading to ginning. Testing occurs at a depth of approximately 1 meter at the center of the transport medium. RF sensors, sized like SIM cards, have been employed at the research level. Placed at the center of the load, these sensors provide information on the product's moisture. They could also offer identification and tracking details. The sensors are single-use and discarded with the cotton ginning by-products.

Expected Results from the Solution

The development of RF sensors and a portable device for monitoring moisture levels, enhancing efficiency and precision in the cotton ginning process.

Brief Challenge Description
A three-dimensional visualization of part or all of a facility, including buildings, infrastructure, networks, and equipment, connected through a unified database. This aims to document, operate, and maintain a production unit while providing training
for employees. Leveraging modern visualization and data aggregation technology at a relatively low cost per TB, all relevant documentation is systematically attached to
each point of interest and control.

Expected Results from the Solution

An integrated and transparent enterprise database containing roles, documents, risk analysis, and activities.

Reduction in paper usage.
Systematic, real-time visualization of changes, interventions, and activities.
Virtual environment training capability.
Minimization of risks for personnel and the environment.

Transition of Production and Management of Product Samples in the New Digital Era
AKRITAS S.A.

Brief Challenge Description
The product samples generated and distributed by AKRITAS for product promotion come in three forms:

1) Sample Cards Palette in Ventana format, 10 x 15 cm in thickness.

2) Book with customized corresponding product sample cards.

3) Individual samples of larger surface dimensions (20 cm x 30 cm), with a thickness of 6 mm. AKRITAS faces the challenge of transitioning its production and management of samples into the new digital era.

Expected Results from the Solution

This transition involves:
a) Adoption of high-performance technologies such as 3D printing for product simulation.
b) End-to-end integration of sample production and distribution, addressing needs like labeling, traceability, performance measurement, replaceability, etc. AKRITAS welcomes any idea meeting these objectives, particularly those aligned with Artificial Intelligence and Smart Integration of Requirements.

Brief Challenge Description
In the dynamic tech landscape, companies face the critical task of transforming junior programmers into seasoned experts. Embracing the power of technology, this challenge aims to address this actual problem by proposing methods that connect junior developers to resources of various types, fostering a self-made path to programming mastery.

Expected Results from the Solution

The potential outcome will facilitate concepts such as seamless collaboration, personalized mentorship, adaptive training, project-based learning, data-drivenpersonalized insights, and integration with existing systems to effectively develop junior programmers into senior ones and create a pipeline of skilled and experienced developers.

Dynamic and Collaborative Truck appointment System in Container Terminals and Warehouses
ΟΛΘ Α.Ε.

Brief Challenge Description
Developing a dynamic and cooperative time window truck appointment system is pivotal for the logistics and supply chain. The specific collaboration among the trucking companies and the Container Terminals’ management is oriented to be significantly improved, by resolving the truck scheduling challenge and by enhancing efficiency and overall reliability. The aspiration is to tackle custom gate delays, to reduce costs by diminishing the waiting times and to lower fuel consumption and emissions.

Expected Results from the Solution
It is crucial to integrate a comprehensive platform supplemented by a mobile app, based on AI algorithms and real-time data. The projection is to spread the information regarding the traffic patterns, the cargos, and the appointments while the incorporation of a blockchain technology and the historical data analysis adds a further value to its security, transparency, and flexibility, ultimately leading to a more productive and sustainable logistics framework.

Brief Challenge Description
Initially, the energy requirements of ISOMAT's central facilities need to be calculated based on the factory's production schedule. Subsequently, the software will propose the optimal energy mix combination from the grid, photovoltaic stations, and waste processing. Regarding waste processing, the thermogenic power and derivatives resulting from their treatment must be calculated to achieve complete reuse and zero waste.

Expected Results from the Solution
The anticipated software is expected to generate statistical data and analyses showcasing the benefits derived from this specific process in reducing our carbon footprint.
